BULLETIN:  UNFORTUNATELY, SPARKY PASSED AWAY SEPT. 9, 2011, DUE TO CANCER AND KIDNEY DISEASE. SHE WAS 13 YEARS OLD. SHE WILL BE MISSED BY EVERYONE.

Welcome, young and old alike, to the "Sparky's Adventures" Web site, dedicated to the delightful Sparky stories, as well as the star of the books, Sparky!!

Many children, as well as adults, from coast to coast have found the Sparky Adventures to be charming stories, but Sparky herself was a great story.  Rescued in the nick of time from a terrible fate (see Sparky's Story section), Sparky went from Death Row to Canine Celebrity through her starring role in the Sparky stories, as well as countless book readings at schools throughout the United States (see Author Visits section).

But Sparky did not forget her pals back at the animal rescue agencies.  Sparky helps out Adopt-A-Dog (the group that rescued her) by donating $1 from the sale of each book to the organization (see tally to the right), except when in Miami, Fla., or the San Francisco Bay Area.  In those cities, $1 from each book sale goes to the Humane Society of Greater Miami Pet Rescue (Miami) or Pets Unlimited or the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society (San Francisco Bay Area).  And in addition to all the donations, Sparky made many wonderful friends along the way.
