Adopt-A-Dog, based in Greenwich, CT with a shelter in Armonk, NY, describes itself as a "service dedicated to finding good, permanent homes for the many wonderful dogs that are waiting, either in shelters or private homes, to be adopted." That may be so, but for Sparky they were her Guardian Angels. I dread thinking about Sparky's fate if it weren't for the kind-hearted, hard-working people at Adopt-A-Dog. Adopt-A-Dog has many wonderful dogs, and cats, just waiting to share their love with you.

As a not-for-profit organization since 1995, Animal Care & Control has been responsible for New York City's municipal shelter system, rescuing, caring for, and finding loving homes for homeless and abandoned animals in New York City.  Sparky was one of those abandoned animals, and she was rescued from Animal Care & Control’s East Harlem shelter in 1999 by Adopt-A-Dog.
